Memoriam: Senator Edward Kennedy
Thursday, August 27, 2009

Autism Society mourns the loss of a legendary advocate. One can always find the bad in life. We choose to see the good that one man did by giving back as an advocate for real cause. We have all been touched by the decisions and lives of others for what G'd chooses and how He chooses to use a persons life. Senator Kennedy is no exception. We continue to pray for his family and we thank G'd for opening our understanding to Honor and respect for those who endeavor to make change apparent! CNIC Staff

The Autism Society joins the world in mourning the loss of Senator Edward (“Ted”) Kennedy, who passed away Tuesday night after battling brain cancer for more than a year. The Massachusetts Democrat, who devoted almost 50 of his 77 years to service in the United States Senate, was a long-time champion of the autism community. Known as “the lion of the Senate,”a partial listing of Sen. Kennedy’s achievements -many which enjoy broad bipartisan support - includes the Community Health Center and WIC programs, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Children's Health Act, the Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency Act , the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, the Food and Drug Administration Modernization Act , the creation of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), the Family Opportunity Act, the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Act, and the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act among many others.
In addition to the years he spent aggressively advancing mental health parity, Senator Kennedy also sponsored and supported such successful initiatives as the community mental health program, the children's system of care program, and many additional pieces of legislation that produced federal programs to treat and serve people with disabilities. Speaking about his brother Robert F. Kennedy’s assassination, Senator Kennedy once said that he "need not be idealized, or enlarged in death beyond what he was in life, to be remembered simply as a good and decent man, who saw wrong and tried to right it, saw suffering and tried to heal it, saw war and tried to stop it,” and today we say the same of him.
The New York Times has reported that the first official tributes and services for Senator Kennedy will begin on Thursday morning. His body is expected to be carried by motorcade from the family compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts, to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston.
The Senator's office has confirmed that his body will lie in repose at the museum Thursday and Friday for public viewing. The Museum will also host a wake on Friday evening, with Vice President Joseph R. Biden and Senators John Kerry and John McCain among the expected speakers. The Timesfurther reported that a funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Basilica, a historic Boston church, said Kennedy spokesman Keith Maley. President Barack Obama will speak at the Mass. Finally, Kennedy's body will then be transported to Virginia for burial at Arlington on Saturday afternoon. His body will be laid to rest on the famous hillside that is also the final resting site of others from the famous family, including former first lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis.
Senator Kennedy could never be replaced, and we honor his memory.

Introducing Lady Renita PDF Print E-mail

Who is she?
Admin!
Overcomer!
No Matter What!
Tested & Tried!
FRIEND!

Last woman standing even through the storms of life have stretched and ripped away at our friendship, focus and fortitude! Lady Renita J. is a person we have been given as a reminder of YHWH’s continued grace. We have experienced her mercy, with true regard, affection and trust. Pastor D. Nurse and I have found in her what we missed in days past by finally seeing a model of pure covenant. Through forgiveness and words we have learned to trust her heart, work and resolve! The word of G’d calls what is created by HIS Hands “Good” and Lady Renita has grown to be a “good friend”. Not for what she does but simply for who she is! She is the friend by our side and will be there for always. Life may transition, however we find incredible strength in her character and integrity. Yes, she has been tested and so have we, the results are victory, victory and more victory. Let us present to some and introduce to others Lady Renita J., the woman that G’d has sent in this crucial hour of change to press with us into the “Vision” ahead.

If you have immediate concerns involving this ministry do contact her directly in our absence! Pray with us as we pray for her walk in the days to come! How can two walk together lest they agree. Amos 3:3

On My Knees - Chermae Morris PDF Print E-mail
On My Knees
Written by Chermae Morris

On my knees
I am on my knees
On my knees
I am on my knees
Its all I know
To do in this trying time
I am on my knees
To seek the Holy One
Who gives me peace
In this weary storm
And on my knees
I know He hears me
On my knees
I know He sees me
Its in His name
I bow before the throne
Seeking just a single touch
For I know
This is where he wants me

 To be
Before Him
Humbled at His feet
Pouring out to Him
All I need
While on my knees

On my knees
I am on my knees
On my knees I am on my knees
Its what I need
In this weary time
I am on my knees
To ask for mercy
Pleading for help
To ease the hurting
And on my knees
Its seems I’ve fallen
Broken and bruised
My heart confused,
But still trusting
That on my knees
Is where He wants me to be
Before Him
Humbled at His feet
Pouring out to Him
All I need while
On my knees

On my knees
I am on my knees
On my knees
I am on my knees
Crying out
For God to heal me
I am on my knees
Too weak to stand
Asking for His
Sweet anointing
From head to toe
To cover me
Trusting fully that
On my knees
Is where He wants me to be
Before Him
Humbled at His feet
Pouring out to Him
All I need while
On my knees

On my knees
I am on my knees
On my knees
I am on my knees
To lift up those
Whose journeys have
Just begun
Those seeking, hurting, and
Even those lost ones
I am on my knees
Bridging the gap
Pleading grace, only
Knowing too well its reach

And power
Seeking only that I may

Show one
His love so powerful
That on our knees is where

 He wants us to be
Before Him
Humbled at His feet
Pouring out to Him
All that we need
For then we know
Its on our knees
He meets us
He sees us
He greets us
He heals us
He revitalizes us
He carries us
He infuses us
He loves us
He molds us
He saves us
All while we’re
Only, only
Before Him
On our knees
